Behavioral Objectives : At the end of the lesson, the pupil should be able to a. describe the events in the EDSA Revolution b. describe the role of the common tao and the media during the revolution c. justify the civil disobedience done by the people, as suggested Cory Aquino d. infer on the reasons that held the soldiers from destroying Camp Crame and Aguinaldo

III. Motivational Activity 1. Divide the class into 6 groups. Give one of the following pictures to each group: Corazon Aquino Fidel V. Ramos Juan Ponce Enrile Ferdinand Marcos common people (masses) religious leaders (Archbishop Sin, Priests, Nuns) 2. The teacher says an event or an activity. Within a given period of time, the groups will raise their picture if the person in their picture led or is involved directly in the said activity/event. 3. Groups with correct answers get points. 4 that RAM planned to overthrow the government but they failed. Enrile stayed at Camp Aguinaldo while Ramos stayed at Camp Crame. Agapito Aquino and Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin called all the people listening to Radio Veritas to go to EDSA and the camps and help the rebels.

February 23, 1986 Enrile moved to Camp Crame in the afternoon. The people mediated between the soldiers of Malacanang and Enrile. Many soldiers went to Camp Crame.

The rebel group gained control over the media like radio and TV stations and the secret arsenal, and also the support of the soldiers. People in Manila united with the soldiers in Camp Crame. Filipinos at the camp shared everything they have.

Filipinos who live far and in the provinces offered their prayers for a bloodless revolution. The important idea of the revolution: Filipinos helped each other in order to attain a fair, just, and democratic society. February 25, 1986 At Club Filipino: Corazon C. Aquino and her running partner, Salvador Doy Laurel were proclaimed President and Vice President of the New Government.

Malacanang Palace: Noontime, Marcos was declared President before the Supreme Court. The inauguration of Marcos was aired at Channel 9 but it suddenly stopped. Homework Tell what would have happened if the following events took place: 1. soldiers went ahead with harming the people/ civilians/rebels as directed by Marcos? 2. People Power did not take place? 3. the media and the Catholic church did not participate? 4. Marcos was not brought to Hawaii by the Americans?
