March 2,1528 My Sweet, Sweet Nicholai,

I miss you so very much. Not a day goes by when I

think of what would have been if I would have stayed. Dont be alarmed but we were attacked by these naked savages. The men are very large. Im slightly frightened by the size on these people. They fight rather strange, instead of fighting with swords; they use bows and arrows. Each day Im discovering something new about these people. I dont understand why it has to be this difficult. If it was up to me I

would just leave them be, but orders are orders. Im

going to tell you something's. You have to promise on the king and queen that you wont tell a soul. I was told that were going to enslave the strange people and use them as slaves. I have to go now my dearest. Forever in my heart and thoughts. Sincerely, Mary-Beth

January 2,1630 Dear journal, These Copper skin men have come from up north. They try to teach us their way of life. Theyre mad! Whipping themselves. Help is what they need. They try to force their religion down our throats. I would rather slit my own wrist than comply with their religious beliefs. If we comply, my people will be eating with silver utensils and wear clothes to cover up what the gods have given us. LONG LIVE THE GODS! KILL THE COPPER TRASH! They try to kindly change us but as soon as we fight back, they chain us up and send us else where. Every rock, tree, and creature has a life, spirit, and a name. They take advantage of everything. Burning down our trees for their warmth. As a true native, I will be true to my beliefs. I will not break bread with them. I will scalp them and watch them suffer. TRUST NO COPPER MAN! February 2,1502 Dear King Louis XIV, I have great news for you. I have come across some natives and theyre actually not as bad as they seem. They have taught us survival tricks. In return we helped them fight another Native tribe. We are like business partners. Theyre nice, kind people. They are their own boss. Theyre just like you and I. April 3,1622 Dear Diary, You wouldnt believe what just happened to me. One minute we were eating and laughing and enjoying our red wine. Then the next moment

we were ambushed. The natives came from no

where. I heard the screams of women and children. Men were being decapitated and gutted like fish. To get back at those creatures

were going to conquer them. Burn their corn,

boats,homes, and fishing equipment. Then well sit back and watch them suffer, just like how they made my people suffer. Those Natives are

going to learn not to mess with us.

I dont quite understand your warning. The Europeans have proven to us that they are trust worthy. We have taught the Europeans

how to survive and in return they have

protected us. Im sorry that you have had a bad encounter with the Europeans. I have taught them the language of our people and

have spent many seasons with them. I

Dasia Miles-Langaigne was born December 25,1997. Dasia is 14 years old. She attends Tech Boston Academy and is in the 9th grade. When she isnt in school she is the total opposite. At school you cant get her talk, at home you cant get her to shut up. On her spare time she is either watching Netflix, playing wii, or out doing something. For example apple picking, go kart racing, bumper boating, or the movies.

I believe the relationship between the Europeans and Natives were unhealthy because the Europeans were controlling and taking advantage of the Natives. Also the Natives and Europeans were always trying to get even with each other and thats not healthy. The investigation could possibly teach us that in life everyone isnt trust worthy because the Natives trusted the Europeans and it backfired. Also stay true to your beliefs and fight for what you believe in because some of the Natives werent true to their beliefs and they got taken advantage of. This particular part of history is significant because this was the start of the New world. Also it was significant time in Native history because they were changed to fit the Europeans requirements and demands. Also lots of Natives were killed.
