ADR Vehicle Equipment and Documentation Checks TANKS

Tank Inspection Plates:


Must be marked with date of last periodic inspection & the mark of the body that carried out the tests, as appropriate: I Leakproofness / intermediate (every 3 years) I Thorough/periodic (every 6 years)

ADR hazard placards & orange plates must be I In good condition I Kept clean at all times

Transport document I Instructions in writing I Vehicle Certificate of approval (eg. tractor units, fixed tank vehicles, semi trailers)

Driver PPE:

Fire extinguisher (Vehicles over 7.5 tonne: minimum 12 kg total capacity with at least one extinguisher of 6kg - eg. dry powder) Wheel chocks (sufficient in number and suitable for GVW) 2 x warning signs Eye wash (at least 2 x 500ml bottles of sterile eyewash) First aid kit

High-vis vest or full sleeve jacket I Torch (intrinsically safe for petrol & highly flammable liquids) I Protective gloves (suitably hardwearing & compatible with goods carried) I Protective goggles

Additional safety equipment that may be required:


- for danger labels 2.3 and 6.1 I Emergency escape mask - for danger labels 3, 4.1, 4.3, 8 and 9. I Shovel I Drain seal I Plastic container (or suitable spill kit)

Driver Documentation:
