INT. MUSICIAN'S APARTMENT - DAY A young aspiring musician sits practicing on his trombone. He is disturbed by the sounds of construction coming from outside his window so he moves to investigate. Outside, he sees a beautiful young woman overseeing the finishing touches of her beauty parlour. He stands looking out the window at the woman for a short moment before slowly moving away. FADE TO BLACK. INT. YOUNG WOMAN'S APARTMENT - EVENING Sitting, reading a book, the young woman hears a gentle trombone melody coming from her garden, so she heads towards the balcony to investigate. EXT. BALCONY She opens the doors and moves onto the balcony. EXT. GARDEN Down in the garden is the young man playing his trombone in an attempt to serenade the woman. EXT. BALCONY For a short moment, the woman stands there politely listening to him. Once finished, the woman rapidly shuts the doors and retreats inside. INT. MUSICIAN'S APARTMENT - MOMENTS LATER The young man places the trombone in a corner by the window and heads to bed. FADE TO BLACK. INT. BEAUTY PARLOUR - THE NEXT DAY (Time Lapse)Throughout the day, the woman is kept very busy with a constant stream of customers. EXT. GARDEN - EVENING (MONTAGE)Night after night, for the next five days, he returns to the garden attempting to serenade the woman with various instruments, but to no avail. INT. MUSICIAN'S APARTMENT - MOMENTS LATER (PART OF MONTAGE)Each time, he throws the instruments in a corner by the window before heading to bed.

FADE TO BLACK. INT. MUSICIAN'S APARTMENT - MORNING Sitting in a chair, glaring at the pile of instruments, the man suddenly gets an idea. Straight away he begins to construct it. INT. BEAUTY PARLOUR All through the day, the woman sits day-dreaming as she awaits the arrival of any customers, but none arrive. EXT. BALCONY - EVENING The woman stands eagerly awaiting the arrival of the routine serenade from the man. INT. MUSICIAN'S APARTMENT He is still constructing his contraption. EXT. BALCONY (DISAPPOINTED)She realizes he will not arrive and heads inside. FADE TO BLACK. INT. YOUNG WOMAN'S APARTMENT - THE NEXT DAY - EVENING Once again, the woman sits in a chair reading. From the garden comes the sound of small squeaking wheels. Excited, she rushes to the balcony. EXT. BALCONY The doors fly open as she rushes onto the balcony. EXT. GARDEN Standing in the garden is the man and his contraption, covered by a sheet, beside him. He lifts off the sheet before beginning to play. EXT. BALCONY She is clearly beginning to swoon, when the music suddenly stops. She rushes to the garden. EXT. GARDEN Somehow, the man has become entangled in the contraption. BEAUTY PARLOUR Two days after the incident, there is a large gathering of people at the beauty parlour to witness the unveiling of a new leisure and beauty appliance, the bizarre contraption the young man invented.
