M 100 RLE) Course Description: This course delas with the study and application of concepts, principles, steps, and rationale of fundamental/basic nursing procedures necessary in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness among individuals, families, groups and communities. Credit Unit: 6.0 hours/ week Course Objective: General: At the end of the semester, after participating actively and comprehending given relevant learning experiences, the student will be able to acquire the basic knowledge attitude and skills with which to carry out fundamental/basic nursing procedures and techniques in order to provide competent health care. Specific: After completing the course, the student will be ablt to: 1. Discuss the basic concepts, principles and techniques of specific nursing procedures. 2. Requirements: Wrist watch, Plastic envelope, green tray with cloth lining, small auditing notebook, ballpen (4 colors) BP apparatus and stethoscope, 1 digital thermometer, 1 rectal themometer, 1 oral thermometer, 3 glass bottle, small ruler, penlight, measuring tape, tourniquet, nail cutter, needle and thread (white, blue and black) wash cloth in a plastic, plastic medicine cup, gloves and smock gown.
