The ultimate timeline

Nobody can be sure how the world originally started. Many Scientists believe in the big bang theory where as other people believe in Religion. It should be noted that some scientists have religious beliefs and a lot of religious people believe in the theories of science.

Mesozoic Era
Occurred between 245-65 million years ago and is comprised of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.

Dinosaurs become extinct


The end of the Mesozoic era, 65 million years ago. Up to 50 percent of the planet's animal and plant species disappeared. What caused this huge loss of life isn't certain. Climate change is strongly implicated, It's believed by many that the final killer blow came from a massive meteorite impact.

6000 BC
Britain becomes separated from the European mainland.

5000 BC
Neolithic period begins. First evidence of farming.

1200 BC
Celtic Britain The Celts were farmers and lived like Iron Age people in small village groups. Celts were a warlike people. The tribes often quarrelled with each other and fought savage battles. They could be a terrifying sight for the enemy. They were taller than Southern Europeans, and many fought naked, their long, fair hair stuck up into spikes with lime. They screamed as they ran into battle, waving their iron swords and blowing horns and trumpets.

800 BC
Iron Age Smiths learned to extract iron from its ore, and to transform it into weapons and tools. Iron was better than bronze in many ways. It was much tougher and easier to work. Iron was also cheaper than copper.

55 BC
Julius Caesar invades Britain for the second time with 800 ships. This time he defeated the Kentish tribes. When the Romans arrived, nearly everyone in Britain still lived in the countryside. The Romans began to establish towns, built roads, introduced clean localised water and introduced baths to every town. Farming expanded as well as trades in pottery, wool, gold, lead and silver

In 1534 Henry V111 forms the Church of England. Henry is confirmed as Supreme Head of the Church of England.

Mary, Queen of Scots lays claim to the English throne.

Elizabeth 1 begins her 45 year reign.
