EVALUATION STABILITY OF SUPPORTING AT CROSS CUT 2 NORTH AT LEVEL 600 CIURUG PT. ANTAM TBK.

GOLD MINING DIVISION PONGKOR, WEST JAVA

ABSTRACT

The must complicated geological condition, may make us necessary discontinued fields and weathered rocks in some hole locations, to evaluate the stability of the support that has been installed. These need to be done to prevent the hole opening collapse that will result in accidental work and disruption of production processes. Based on that problems, this work is entitled "Evaluation of Stability of Supporting at Cross Cut 2 North at Level 600 Ciurug PT. ANTAM Tbk. Gold Mining Division Pongkor, West Java ". Rock mass classification data processing using RMR method in the North Cross Cut 2 resulted; Rock mass classes 3, Rock mass cohesion = 240 kPa; Friction angle = 290; Modulus deformation (Em) = 8.9125 GPa (8912.5 MPa); Poisson's ratio = 0.2; Compressive strength (c) = 82.57 MPa; Tensile strength (t) = 16.514 MPa. The result analysis span design was obtained with 6 m length and stand up time of 80 hours. Therefore the setting of supporting before 80 hours, after the excavation. The analysis of the stability of the hole opening with empirical methods indicate that the suitable supporting wad rock bolt type with 4 m long and space between 1,5 to 2 m. Recently the support used rock bolt 2,4 m long and 1 m spacing. The results of the hole opening stability analysis numerical methods was the safety factor before supporting which was between 1.04 to 1.30, meaning that the hole opening was unstable; safety factor after supporting of between 1.30 to 2.35, meaning that the hole opening was stable; deformation of the walls before supporting which was between 1.60 to 4.40 mm, meaning that the displacement was very small; wall deformation results after supporting which was between 1.60 to 5.25 mm, meaning that the displacement was very small.
