Assess the importance of Robert Hookes and Robert Browns discovery in the development of the cell theory Robert

Hooke further developed the compound microscope and was the first person to use the term cell to identify microscopic structures which he observed in a piece of cork. Robert Brown discovered the nucleus in a wide variety of plant cells, although he had no idea at that time of the importance of the nucleus or its function in cells. The contributions of these two scientists have played a key role in the development of the cell theory and paved the way for new opportunities and discoveries to arise. Without these major discoveries no other discovery would have been able to be identified and hence a continuous cycle.
