Senior Resume Assignment As you get closer to graduation, finding employment becomes more and more important.

When applying for a job there are certain elements to include with a job application to ensure you have a good chance of getting a job. The resume is designed to give you a way to express your skills, while the cover letter is used as a way to verbalize your want/love/determination for getting that chosen job. Most resumes you can reuse, but cover letters need to be written and re-written for every job opportunity. They need to be tailored for each individual job you apply for. In this assignment you will be investigating two jobs. You can find the opportunities in person or online. You must print out an application and research what you will need to do to be successful in this job. You must also have all of the requirements to obtain this job. For example, if they require a bachelors degree, you cannot apply because you do not have this degree. If should be along the same lines of what you are looking to do for the future, but you must also be qualified to do this job. Next, you will develop a resume using the given format. Make sure to include any work experience (babysitting, paid work for others, ROP), any awards you received in school, good grades (if applicable), and any other information that seems relevant. Once you have completed the resume, you will fill out both job applications and write a cover letter for both of the chosen available jobs. A cover letter is a letter introducing yourself and is your only chance to say why you are perfect for the job. It should be a narrative about your strengths and motivation. The cover letters should be at least three paragraphs each. They need to be formatted like the examples. Total assignment: Resume 2 job applications 2 cover letters tailored to the two different jobs Give a 30 second presentation debriefing your jobs, your strengths and why you would be good at the job. This will look like a mock job interview. This will be presented on the day of the final.
