Read and summarize the paper (not more than 300 words) entitled Towards quantification of the water footprint of paper: A first estimate of its consumptive component by van Oel and Hoekstra (2012). 2. Prepare a one page summary (around 300 words) of the research paper on Nitrate Removal from Ground Water: A review. 3. In your city, the water is withdrawn from underground source. On water analysis, it was found that it is very hard (> 300 mg/L as CaCO3) and contains iron. The toxic organics may also be present in the water due to the underground disposal of hazardous waste. As a water supply engineer, which treatment steps will you suggest. Draw the treatment units in proper sequence with their purpose. Also mention the chemical to be added and by products formed during the process. Please note that RO system cannot be considered due to financial constraints. 4. Waste can be defined as a resource out of place. Examine the contents of your home solid waste and determine the potential uses for the materials being discarded. 5. Assuming a five-day school week with solid waste pickups on Wednesday and Friday before school starts in the morning, determine the size of the container required. Assume waste is generated at a rate of 0.11 kg/cap.d plus 3.6 kg per day per room and the density of uncompacted solid waste is 120 kg/m3. Standard container sizes are as follows (all in m3): 1.5, 2.3, 3.0, 4.6.
