Background The candidate will be an experienced education professional with a

minimum of five years of working in education, ideally in the RE or
arts fields.

They will be able to demonstrate an high level of cultural awareness

and experience of Museum/Heritage collections and exhibitions of
specific South Asian importance at a National level and how best to
engage South Asian audiences and wider groups with such
collections.

The candidate will have experience in some of the following;

• in creating educational materials and knowledge of the
potentials of web-based and digital learning.
• in recruiting and training volunteers
• in the creation of exhibitions
• in setting up and running INSET sessions
• in evaluation

Key Responsibility The candidate will be responsible for;

• a travelling exhibition on Jainism that will be shown in

museums, libraries and other public centres throughout the
country with a family-learning series of events that will be
attached to the travelling exhibition.

• alongside the main website there will be a schools website

using material for the main website with teaching materials

• an INSET programme on Jainism using the schools website

as a basis for the teaching of Jainism in the classroom

• the training of c.75 volunteers to assist with INSET sessions,

running of family events that accompany the travelling
exhibition

Remuneration £200-£300 per day plus agreed expenses.

Contract Length Consultancy basis until spring 2012. Up to 200 days in total.
