ALZHEIMERS TRAINING
Course Description This training is an informative overview of Alzheimers disease and the clinical and scientific research moving us closer to prevention. The research update will include disease description and basics and differentiation from normal cognitive aging; prevalence data, pathologic overview, risk factors, diagnosis and staging. There will be time for questions and discussion with one of the foremost leaders on Alzheimers disease research in the world, John C. Morris, MD. There will also be an overview of the mission, vision and services of the Alzheimers Association. This discussion will focus on specific services available from the Missouri Coalition of Alzheimers Association Chapters, including, but not limited to: 1) Respite Funding 2) Helpline 3) Care Consultations This training benefits all staff working with families and individuals affected by Alzheimers disease.
