Arab Israeli Conflict Lesson 1 Discussion Point 1 The word pan is used to describe a scenario in which a group of race, religion, or background represents symbolize for a certain political party or union. An example of the use of Pan would be Pan Islamism, in Muslims, whether from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, or Egypt are bonded together due to the fact that they are Muslim. Discussion Point 2 Another type of pan situation, is the Arab League. Although still a Pan Scenario, the Arab league is slightly more obdurate. The intentions of the Arab League are not to unite each other, but rather to discuss and open about the situations each of the Arab states is having. One of the main purposes of the Arab League forming was the fact that all Arabs spoke a common language, which was Arabic. Activity The conflict with Pan Situations is when multiple approaches are used by multiple parties of to achieve their own personal goals. A clear example of this would be the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah. It is safe to say that a majority of the Arabs in the Arab League disagree with Hezbollahs method, and approach to express their Pan Arabism rights. So what ends up happening is that the reputation of the Arab League is tarnished due to minor leagues within it.
