Associated Student Government University of Arkansas ASG Senate Bill No. 24 Authors: Senator Rachel Freeman, Senator Luke Brasuell Sponsors: Senator Rachel Freeman, Senator Luke Brasuell A Bill to Fund a Safe Ride Expansion Pilot Program Whereas, Whereas, Whereas, The ASG-funded program Safe Ride is growing in use and popularity; and Safe Ride provides all students with a safe means of transportation from any uncomfortable or inconvenient situation; and Safe Ride will pick up students at any location within the Fayetteville city limits and transport them to their residence as indicated on ISIS; and The statistics for Spring 2013 Safe Ride ridership illustrate a 35% increase in Week 3 and a 14% increase during Week 4 compared to those respective weeks in Spring 2012; and Renting two (2) vans from Enterprise would result in an immediate pilot for the programs expansion; and Safe Ride can reduce its response time and improve the programs efficiency with this pilot program; then The ASG Senate shall allocate $2,000 to the Safe Ride pilot program in order to rent 2 vans from Enterprise for the remainder of the Spring 2013 semester.
