PLANTATION OF NEEM TREES IN THE ROAD-DIVIDERS

Billions of neem trees can be planted & maintained on road dividers but it seems there is no NATIONAL-POLICY on this vital issue. Road engineers unnecessary fear that:(1) TREES WILL BE OBSTACLE FOR VEHICLES BUT THIS IS NOT CORRECT as only cars are supposed to run near the divider lane. These trees can be pruned initially from the bottom to grow beyond 2-3 meters & above. (2) THE ROOTS OF NEEM AND OTHER SUCH TREES WILL DAMAGE THE FOUNDATION OF ROAD, this is also not correct ,as can be seem on so many roads particularly Ahmadabad- Mehsana N.H. road built & maintained by L&T ltd.

(3) PLANTATION & MAINTENANCE OF TREES IS A COSTLY AFFAIR ,this is also not true as such plantation pay back their cost as follows:(a) (b) (c) (d) (e) Improving climate, reducing temp. so operating cost of vehicles reducing. Can earn carbon credit of crores of rupees annually. Can give neem fruit which has medicinal value & timber for various use. Can be home for many birds to improve invoirments & atmosphere etc. Produce tons of oxygen for us to live healthy .Neem trees produce oxygen 7 times more than any other trees. (f) These trees will also help to control glaring effect from the vehicles coming from the opposite side (other side of road divider). (g) Neem trees generally do not require watering after 2-3 years. (h) It will also control global warming.

IT IS REQUESTED TO MOVE THIS MATTER IN THE INTERST OF ALL OF US AND OUR COUNTRY.
