Associated Student Government University of Arkansas ASG Senate Resolution No. 61 Authors: Senator Shaelyn Vinson, Senator Amy Kent Sponsors: Senator Shaelyn Vinson, Senator Amy Kent A Resolution to Universalize Grading in the Fay Jones School of Architecture Whereas, Whereas, The Fay Jones School of Architecture uses a plus/minus grading system that makes GPA configuration ambiguous; and Students in the Fay Jones School of Architecture are not given a fair shot at university-wide scholarships because of the more rigorous grading system; and The plus/minus grading system discourages students not in the Fay Jones School of Architecture from taking architecture courses; and Classes offered through the Fay Jones School of Architecture, excluding design studios, are graded by written tests and given point values; and We recognize the subjectivity necessary to grade a design studio; then That the Associated Student Government supports removing the plus/minus grading system in the Fay Jones School of Architecture classes aside from design studio.
