What is inquiry?

To J. Richard Suchman, inquiry is a natural way that human beings learn about their environment. An act of seeking for information, truth or knowledge by questioning. Usually learning starts with exploration and questioning and leads to investigation into a worthy question, issue, problem or idea.

It involve asking question, gathering and analyzing information, generating solutions, making decisions, justifying conclusions and taking action.
Through the process of inquiry, individuals construct much of their understanding of the natural and human-designed worlds. ( Sharon Friesen)
