A Resolution for an Expanded Grade Forgiveness Policy

11

12

Whereas,

Grade forgiveness is beneficial to both students and the University

13

of Arkansas; and

14

15

Whereas,

Many schools in the SEC offer more than two (2) opportunities for

16

students to choose to repeat a course using grade forgiveness; and

17

18

Whereas,

Uniquely, students suffering from poor mental health could benefit

19

from an expansion in this policy; and

20

21

Whereas,

An expansion in grade forgiveness will allow University of Arkansas

22

students to be more competitive in national scholarship contests

23

and job interviews; and

24

25

Whereas,

Grade forgiveness can help a student recover from hardships that

26

have affected him or her academically; then

27

28

Be it therefore resolved:

The Associated Student Government supports

29

an expansion of the current grade forgiveness

30

policy to allow a student to repeat a maximum

31

of four (4) courses during his or her

32

undergraduate career.
