Bill Evans New Conversations

No Bill Evans fan should be without this amazing album. No jazz piano fan should be without it either. In my opinion this is by far the best of the 3 Evans "conversations" overdubbing albums and one of his top non-trio efforts in general. The depth and range of pianistic technique and emotion is amazing. The closing Ellington composition "Reflections in D" will leave you breathless. The virtuosity of variations on "I Love My Wife" is staggering. The wistful mood of "Remembering the Rain" is pure loveliness. Track listings: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Song For Helen Nobody Else But Me Maxine For Nenette I Love My Wife Remembering The Rain After You Reflections In D And unlike parts of "Conversations with Myself" and "Further Conversations," this album is masterfully recorded and mixed, with the overdubbing of parts so fluid and natural that you are not distracted by the technique and can fully enjoy the resulting music. Don't be scared off by the ugly cover!! This is one of the most beautiful Bill Evans records ever. _ Stephen V. Funk - Chicago, IL USA
