In Brave New World Huxley juxtaposes the World State and the Reservation.

To begin, discuss as a whole group what elements are paralleled in both settings of the novel. Jot down what the students come up with using a T-chart. Then, students can pick whatever element they want to analyze and examine it in regards to their theme they did for their experiment (i.e. conformity, extremism, etc). How does Huxley use juxtaposition of this specific element in the setting to further his satirical purpose? How do these elements work together to support the theme? Draw a conclusion for each setting as to what the society represents. Next, create a snapshot of each setting portraying these conclusions. Use magazine pictures, drawings, etc. Your snapshot should show what each society represents in regards to your theme. Example: If Im doing ignorance is bliss I would show Leninas dependence on soma for the World State and Johns desire to be a sacrifice for the Reservation. These show how my theme is seen in both settings. Write a short explanation of how the snapshots show your theme and how Huxley uses the juxtaposition to support his criticism. Also, write a short response explaining which society you would want to live in and why
