Changing societys mindset ______ Encouraging young people to visit galleries and museums
Young people make a great impact and unknowingly shape our lives in magnificent ways, however we fall short in allowing young people to know how skilful, talented and important they are to the fabric of our society. As a young British artist, I am not only passionate but also obliged to give youth a voice. Elaine Bandele

Why?
Some young people feel alienated and unappreciated by wider society. This feeling of alienation can be seen even more so by the young people who fit the outward appearance of a gang member ; even though they are not part of a gang that practices criminal activities. In spite of feeling alienated these young people are innovative, ambitious and when you listen to their stories; inspirational. The Forgotten Gang aims to give British youth a voice in combating the mass medias negative portrayal of youth culture.
How?
To complete this ground breaking photo documentary the photographer, Elaine Bandele, will photograph and interview 1000 young people, aged 10 23 years old, from across the UK, by 2014. The Forgotten Gang tour began in 2011. Held at Bruce Castle Museum, in North London, the exhibition displayed 39 portrait photographs and played audio from the participants interviews.
Benefits?
TFG project offers educational workshops, employability skills training, cash royalties and Arts Award qualifications. More importantly TGF project inspires young people to focus on reaching their fullest potential, regardless of their background or others opinion of them.
The Forgotten Gang project benefits more than just the participants.

For three years, the Forgotten Gang Project has been working passionately to fulfill its mission of
giving British youth a voice, to combat the mass medias negative portrayal of youth culture. The Forgotten Gang does this by highlighting their skills, opinions and aspirations whilst breaking social stereotypes, via photographic art.
To date forty young people, including two youth organisations have participated in the project. In
2011 the tour began in Bruce Castle Museum, Tottenham North London. The response from participants and visitors to the exhibition was amazing. The exhibition has caused people to consciously reflect on their prejudice and own self esteem.
We are now beginning the third stage of the project and are going full steam ahead in attracting
partners, schools and organisations to join us, in building young peoples confidence and skills.
We would love to meet with you to formally present TFG and discuss how you can benefit from supporting The Forgotten Gang Project. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
