Other (please specify) My room has only the teacher computer I don't always know how to incorporate it into my curriculum, however I do use technology often with students. Lab computers need frequent updates to remain operable throughout the year (Java, Flash, Silverlight, etc.) None Computer lab space and laptop carts are often in use by other classes. none Computer lab is not available for my students due to online classes in the computer lab there is only one option for students to do when in computer lab. Students already work exclusively online, individually. lab is often unavailable because of testing Uninterupted time is needed to find things to enhance the curriculum. Our "banking days" are always tied to hours of meetings. We would like time within our workdays to find meaningful things to enhance teaching. technology is not available in the room I teach in None apply to me. I'm satisfied

Responses I have been pulled out of the technology sessions to supervise children. This was the case for skyward. I'd like to access class testing data. I do this personally with each of the teachers I work with. Many of the tech-related professional developments I've been to focus too much on peripheral areas like adjusting font and tend to kill our interest. PD's that focus only on what you can do with lessons and kids and have step by step written instructions included would be very helpful. Every packet I've gotten in a tech PD has been a mess of mixed up data. Time for practice. After participating in professional development, provide more time to learn, practice and implement a skill before introducing new PD ideas/skills. Instruction is important, but the thing that lacks the most is receiving actual time afterward to "play with" and use the new technology. Otherwise I forget and never end up using it. Provide a written explanation of the technology and its application to the grade level . Then present the how to in an unhurried manner Smartsync at MC2, please! I really think that are smartboards are great, but I feel we need more resources where the students can work independently on ipads or labtops. I think more people would be willing to take more classes in technology if the agency would also help pay for credits towards our license renewals. I believe more people will participate if we have more opportunities built into our calendar year.

Q18 If you have had experiences interacting with the agency's technical staff, what has been your general impression of the service provided?

Responses OK Very efficient Seems to be fine ... Service has been good, but there may be some communication problems. A few times, I have had computers fixed, but was never notified. As a result, the computer continued to not be used as I thought it was inoperable. They are very knowledgeable and efficient, but they seem to be overworked. If I have ever had a problem/concern, it seems to get fixed in an appropriate amount of time. Mostly positive. Some instruction on smaller issues could prevent wasting their time and ours on things we could fix ourselves. Very professional They're awesome The technical staff has always been helpful and willing to answer questions. They try to accomodate classroom schedules when they need to complete work. I wasn't sure who to contact for IT related issues. They have been helpful and efficient when fixing any problems that I have had. Computer Tech guys are extrememly nice and polite. Very efficient Very satisfied, friendly, and quick. helpful and timely Extremely helpful and attentive to needs I always request tech support through Julia Unger; she is always efficient and supportive. Anton is extremely helpful, and very friendly when in the classroom. Knowlegable, effecient good GREAT! They respond quickly and seemed very knowledgeable. I received the Help I needed when I needed it. My in-building coordinator is wonderful with responding to questions and concerns and does so in a very timely manner. Great :) Great! They're all very pleasant and take care of business as soon as they're here. The issue is that sometimes it takes them a while to get here.

Q19 Is there any additional feedback concerning the technology support provided by the agency that you would like to provide?

Responses When told of a problem they come and fix it. It would be beneficial to have a permanent technology support staff member permanently on hand at MC2 since we are a technology driven school. It's very inconvenient when internet or some other piece of technology is not working when it was an integral part of our lesson. None Clear expectations of what is suggested and what is expected and is it always the same for each grade level. I had found a technology tutor for myself. We have Wi-Fi? Why does our security filter constantly change what sites we have access to. (this happens multiple times a day)? MC2 really needs Smartsync Not at this time Problems are handled quickly. The emails sent out by the Technology Department are not necessary, most of the information does not pertain to the individual and the email does not get read like they are meant to by most staff members. Responses I use the Smartboard everyday to present my lessons. i use the internet to support books I read in library. I find additional info., photos, or videos to support the story. everything changed!!! The lecture notes are more interactive and entire labs can now be done by students as a groupd in front of the smartboard. It makes demonstrating processes on the internet a lot easier for students to follow and understand. The new whiteboard I completely changed instruction to include interactive mini-lesson activities geared toward student needs. I use it daily when it is working to enhance learning via utube or interactive games Little to None. Due to the inconsistency of the board. I have always had a Smartboard in my classroom, so there wasn't a change. Love it! Us it every day for my morning routine, songs throughout the day, live web-cams, etc. I can't imagine my class without it. Mostly projection. Developed some activities. Allows for station use with students. I use it daily for just about everything More 'board' work where students are the ones at the front of the classroom Use whiteboard feature daily for warm-ups, math calculations, diagramming, etc. Can show instructional internet video clips Use Smart Notebook Lessons and have created review games Use PowerPoint for class lectures Posting docs na I am able to use it to show the class video clips, for interactive activities, and for engaging review. More interactive with students N/A always had SmartBoard It's changed everything... I use my Smartboard every day. It drives every lesson. visual analog to paper activities--interactive exercises, having students come up to the front and write in/participate in exercises Hands on and interactive. Use of mini lessons and the smartboard in small groups Much less paper is used. Being able to show visual examples in all subject areas has been very valuable. I use Mojo Dojo for motivation. Our math program is on line and more convenient than transparencies. I use Step Up to Writing on the Smart Board and an excellent visual for the elements of fiction @ Read, Think, Write. Dictionary. com is used frequently. I rely on the Smart Board when I need to show a picture of a new word. For example: a combine machine for farming!

Since the Smartboard was installed in my classroom, I have been able to provide more engaging lessons to my students by accessing the internet, youtube and various art museum websites that offer virtual tours. minimal More visual aids for the students Videos, pictures helps students to interact with others. none More interaction, smart response assessments It is just so much more interactive and motivating for the students. I made one game during the session in which I use for one month. I have not been able to find the time to make more lessons from smart board. I do all my lessons on the Smartboard. interactive vocabulary activities, grammar/writing work. I use it for almost every subject now. I don't know what I would do without it. n/a Instruction is much more interesting and motivating for students. Visuals using a smart board is so much more effective. Introducing concepts has become more appropriate. I was comfortable using a Smartboard before I was employed here. I've always had a Smartboard so my instruction hasn't really changed. Couldn't teach without it. NA more interactive lessons/reviews I was already a very image heavy instructor, but the smartboard definitely makes that more conducive and adaptable (notes and changes on the images themselves as opposed to static stills) Less lecture, more visual activities All lessons are now more interactive Any lessons that I used magnets/pictures/writing on the white board/transparencies- I now use my SmartBoard. I have been able to make many lessons more interactive than they were in the past. Date 2/25/2013 12:07 PM 2/25/2013 11:37 AM

Responses Advanced SmartBoard training inservice. Ability and resources to web cast with authors. More time...and more computers/laptops/tablets...to use outside of sucessmaker scheduled time Vernier sensor and interface equipment for math and physics applications. Another mobile lab. It is often signed out and kicking teachers out of their classrooms to use the labs isn't always possible or can be frustrating for both teachers. Moodle and "Turn it in" would be helpful. i-pads, tablets etc. We need wifi and at least 4 or 5 laptops (Chromebooks, NOT tablets) to be able to function more efficiently within my room. I think every grade needs to be more uniform in the use of tech. A coordinator would be helpful. More funding? NA Skyward Professional development Ipad Access - Can be used to interface with Smartboards and are great for research. Keep current with new technologies and PD to learn More laptops I would like to have a Document Camera and Vernier Software and Tech. in my classroom NA TIME to learn/plan na It would be really beneficial to have a wireless connection. More than 6 computers for use in the classroom at all times. Document cameras Micorosoft Moviemaker and/or Mac iMovie. Tablets. Even one in each classroom would be great. Wireless capabilities in all rooms. More computers for PLTW. more time for professional development. access to video cameras. Wireless More accessibility to the computer lab. It is a great place because the Smart Board is the model. Student personal tablets, especially because of the access to applications that would target students who might not qualify for special ed services but have very specific areas they need help with. Wireless internet so that we can incorporate more technology that is not related to our one teacher computer. It would benefit my students to have access to a few computers and a printer in the art room.

# 30 Responses Time to be able to learn and put together more lessons using technology iPads or other tablets Knowledge of how much access to technology the students have at home. NA More workshops . Smartsync iPads or Chrome books Ipads or labtops for individual students NA More professional development in content specific use of technology. Video cameras; regular access to laptop computers (maybe another cart, so I don't always feel like I'm taking resources away from other teachers) With Common Core and Smart Balance assessment, the students need keyboarding practice and more time to use the computers to construct meaningful assignments/projects. The use of the lab is strictly for drills. With all of the classes using the lab, we do not have the resources to add additional practice. We may need lab tops/tablets. A set for each classroom would be ideal, but having to share among a gradelevel would be a step in the right direction. I think that each child should have their own laptop or Ipad. This will help prepare them for the smarter balanced assessment. Na We need better speakers for the Smartboards and in the Green Room (ESPECIALLY the Green Room). It would be nice if the speakers were attached to the Smartboards so teachers didn't have to remember to grab them along with everything else they have to take to class. Would like more training in Excel and Access to teach to students. I think students only learn Word and Powerpoint. clickers student tablets/laptops (more than currently available) Webcams/Skype ability, Google docs synced with student and school accounts I'd like training on the SMART response clickers. N/A NA na NA The technology access is great and I feel that I can grow with the resources that are accessible. NA na NA NA NO na NA NA NA Creating video documentaries should be a part of our curriculum. NA NA NA Keep in mind the maturity level of the grade level; their prior experience or lack of experience; keyboarding skills; and best practice. Sometimes manipulatives in the hands of every student is better approach than one person taking a turn at the Smart Board. I support a balanced approach in the application of technology for instruction allowing for the professional judgement of the teacher to choose the tool for a particular lesson or a particular class. na
