Tech 8. Project 3: EVALUATE

I. Product Testing
A. Survey 1. Study the results your survey. Generally, who answered your survey? (Students, teachers, etc.) How many took your survey? 2. How did they test your product against the Design Specification? Describe the way or method that you used to make your audience evaluate your product. 3. Did they think that your product minimally, mostly or completely satisfy your Design Specification? Explain. A. Survey Post the link to the Summary of Results of your survey:

Discuss your answers to the questions (on the left) in a clear and concise paragraph. (Minimum 80 words) Generally students answered my survey. Eight people answered and took our survey that we posted on edmodo. The people who answered our survey tested our product with our design specification. Our design specification had questions such as Do the materials represent Mozambique? The way we advertised our survey was through edmodo, and word of mouth. Since our product was about Mozambique, most of our survey questions revolve around Mozambique also. Our survey takers thought that the product mostly and sometimes even completely satisfied the the design specification in some areas.

B. Self-testing Discuss your answers to the questions in a clear and concise paragraph. (Minimum 80 words) I think that the product mostly satisfies the design specification. The product works well, but the innovative design could have been better structured, and made. The strong point of our product was that we had a very original Mozambican theme, unlike some groups. Other groups had their products made with paint and capulana, which is interesting but we used sea shells and sand for our Mozambican theme. Our evaluation survey was very general. We could have added more in depth questions about the Mozambique theme and our product. Other groups also had interesting surveys, some better than ours.

B. Self-testing 1. Use the same survey form to evaluate the product yourself. 2. Do you think that your product minimally, mostly or completely satisfy your Design Specification? Explain. 3. Compare your own evaluation with the evaluation of your audience. What are the strong and weak points of your product?

C. Final Product vs. Original Design 1. Did you follow your plan and chosen design? How does the final

C. Final Product vs. Original Design Discuss your answers to the questions in a clear and concise paragraph. (Minimum 80 words) I didnt follow my plan. Anna, my partner had an idea of making a sea shell as a pencil holder. We decided to use her sea shell holder idea since it was more creative. After that we did follow her original design, and the final product doesnt differ much from it. We didnt really make any changes from our original design. Except, instead of sand in the original idea we were supposed to spray paint the shell gold but instead we used sand and shells to cover it up. We had to make these changes in our final product so our product would look good. Yes, our product did effectively

D. Improving your product Discuss your answers to the questions in a clear and concise paragraph. (Minimum 80 words) To improve the product I would make the design of the product a longer shell, therefore making the prodct

D. Improving your product 1. What aspects in the design will you change to improve the

product compare with your original design? 2. What changes did you make from your original design? What materials, tools, techniques and other resources did you use to make these changes? 3. Why did you have to make these changes in your final product? 4. Did your product effectively address or solve the problem it was intended for? Why or why not? 5. Do you think your product is successful? Why or why not?

address and solve the problem it was intended for. It was meant to tell time and be a pencil holder, and it worked. I definitely think our product was successful because it worked and it looked good. Im proud of it.

longer and more productive. Next product? time I would use materials and tools 2. Describe the similar to the one I used this time. I materials, tools, would use shells, sand and maybe I techniques and skills would even add blue gel paint to make that you will it seem like the sea. That would make use next time. my product look really good.

E. Impact of My Product 1. What uses or benefits can your product offer to life, individuals, communities, society and/or the environment? How will it generally improve life? 2. Is it marketable? (Examples: Is it safe to use? Is it environment-friendly? Is it energy efficient? Etc.) 4. How can these issues be resolved? A. My Scoring Guide Create a score guide that

E. Impact of My Product Discuss your answers to the questions in a clear and concise paragraph. (Minimum 80 words) The benefits this product has on life is that is educates people on the culture of Mozambique, through different themes. The product is definitely marketable. It is good to look at and the pencil innovative design is also really good. You could make a profit through these designs. Possible issues could be that the shells (some may be sharp) fall off and hurt someone (individual, user). These issues can be resolved by using non-harmful shells.
