Have we heard of a teacher that teaches to the test?

It seems like this is what a majority of teachers are doing now because of high-stakes testing. We have CRTs and Proficiency testing, both which seem to push Social Studies off to the side. If something is not on the test, some teachers may be inclined to skip over that material to make time to teach the material that will be on the test or teaching students how to take the test for that particular content area. Not only are our students being labeled as adequate or inadequate, but our teachers are also having to worry about their (the teachers) name

A student worries about how they will be labeled, a teacher is worried about their job contingent on test scores and the administration is worried about AYP. We need to loosen the grip that testing has on us to make sure that our students are receiving the best education without any missing gaps from material being skipped and to lighten the stress placed on schools.
