Craftsmanship

The artwork was beautiful and patiently done. The edges were finished, glazed or paint job flawless, work nicely presented. Great attention to detail. It was as good as hard work could make it.

The artwork was nice however with a little more effort and attention to detail (edges, paint job) the work could be outstanding. Lacks the finishing touches.

Showed an awareness of ceramic processes and techniques. Used resources to enhance design. Student chose their elements of design carefully.

Student came to class on time however did not use the full class period to work on assignment. Student researched the artist and style. Student made a connection between their work presented and their idea.. The artwork shows that the student applied ceramic techniques learned. With a little more planning the work would be outstanding. Showed an awareness of using elements of design to enhance design.

Handling of Assignment/Research and Interpretation

Student came to class on time however used class time to do other class assignments Student researched their idea. Student thought about the idea and made some connection between their work presented and their idea. The student did the assignment adequately however shows lack of planning and little evidence that an overall composition was planned.
