Getting Started
Charge the phone
1 Connect the USB cable to your phone. 2 Insert the other end of the USB cable into the power adapter. 3 Plug in the power adapter to an electrical outlet to start charging. Important: Please use the power adapter and USB cable that came in the box for optimum battery performance.

Connect to Facebook
After initial setup, log into Facebook to get the best experience on your phone.

Log into Facebook

1 Tap Log into Facebook. 2 Sign into your Facebook account. Or to create a new account, tap Sign Up for Facebook.

Turn on your phone

Press and hold the power button on the top panel.

Make sure you add your new number to your Facebook account. 1 Open the Facebook app. 2 Tap , then tap your name. 3 Tap your name, then tap About (under your cover photo). 4 Tap About, then scroll down to the Contact section to update your first phone number.

The first time you turn on your phone, youll be guided to choose the default language, enable location services, and more. To lock and unlock the phone, press the power button briefly.

Cover Feed
Stay in touch and get the latest updates from your friends right on your cover feed. See a stream of recent photos and posts from your News Feed. You can also check if you have any notifications, such as missed calls.

App Launcher
To open the app launcher from your cover feed, press and hold your profile picture, then drag it to . Share directly to Facebook: Tap to post a status. Tap to post a photo. Tap to check into a location.

Google Play Store


Google Play Store is the place to go to find a variety of free and paid apps and more for your phone. 1 Open the Play Store app. 2 Browse by featured apps or search for the app you want, then tap an app. 3 Tap Install (for free apps) or the price button (for paid apps). 4 If you agree to the conditions, tap Accept & download or Accept & buy. Note: A Google Wallet payment method is required to purchase a paid app. You need to associate a valid credit card or debit card to your Google Wallet account to purchase a paid app.

Customize your app launcher

You can add your favorite apps to the app launcher for easy access. 1 From the app launcher, swipe right to see a list of all your apps. 2 Press and hold an app to drag it to your app launcher on the right.

Make sure youre always using the best version of Facebook by allowing automatic updates. 1 Open the Play Store app. Log in if you havent yet. 2 Search for the Facebook app. 3 Tap Allow automatic updating for Facebook to make sure your app stays current.

Contacts and Phone calls


Add a new contact
Sync contacts from online accounts like Google and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. 1 Open the People app, then tap . 2 Choose an online account to sync. 3 Enter the contact information, then tap Done.

Facebook Messenger
Use the Facebook Messenger app to start private conversations with your friends or to send text messages. 1 On the cover feed, press and hold your profile picture, then drag it to . 2 Tap , then choose a friend to message or type a mobile number to send a text. 3 Type your message, then tap Send.

Take and post photos
Snap, tag, and share photos on the go. 1 From the top of the app launcher, tap Photo. 2 At the bottom of the photo gallery screen, tap . 3 Point the camera at what you want to capture, then tap .

NFC & Android Beam


With the built-in NFC (near field communication), you can share content such as a web page or contact info to someones mobile device in an instant.

Turn on NFC and Android Beam


1 Open the Settings app. 2 Under Wireless & networks, tap More. 3 Make sure that the NFC and Android Beam options are turned on.

Make a phone call

1 Open the Phone app, then do any of the following: Enter a phone number, then tap . Tap , browse through your contact list, and then tap a contact. 2 To hang up, tap .

Message through chat heads

Check your voicemail

1 Open the Phone app. 2 Press and hold the number 1 key. 3 Enter your passcode, if you use one. 4 Follow the voice prompts.

When a friend sends you a Facebook message, youll see chat heads appear even while youre using other apps. Tap chat heads to open the message. To close all chat heads, drag the profile pictures to . Drag chat heads to move them around your screen.

4 After taking a photo, tap . 5 To tag a photo, tap a photo thumbnail, and then tap your friends faces. 6 Tap on photos you want to post, then tap . 7 Add your description, then tap Post.

1 Make sure that both devices have NFC and Android Beam turned on. 2 While viewing the content that you want to share, hold your device and the other device back to back. Youll hear a sound and both devices will vibrate slightly when connected. 3 Tap the screen. The shared content appears on the recipients screen.

Set up email
1 Open the Email app. 2 Enter your email address and password. 3 Choose the type of email account to set up. 4 Follow the onscreen instructions to complete setup.

Browse the Web using Google Chrome
1 Open the Chrome app. 2 Tap the URL box on top of the screen. 3 Enter the webpage address or your search keywords.

Wi-Fi & Mobile Hotspot


Connect to a Wi-Fi network
1 On the All apps screen, tap Settings. 2 Turn on Wi-Fi using its On/Off switch. 3 Tap Wi-Fi, then choose a Wi-Fi network to connect to (secured networks require a passkey).

Network Notifications
Your 4G LTE wireless device will indicate which of AT&Ts wireless networks you are connected to. A network indicator does not necessarily mean that you will experience any particular upload or download data speeds.

you want to tether to your phone with a USB cable. On the All apps screen, tap Settings > More > Tethering & portable hotspot. Select the USB tethering option. To enable a portable hotspot, tap Settings on the All apps screen, then tap More > Tethering & portable hotspot > Set up Wi-Fi hotspot. Enter your hotspot settings, then tap Save. Select Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot to turn on.
