Only approved plant will be used to transport heavy Site Supervisor. loads. Plant/Equipment used will be maintained in a good condition. Licensed and experienced operators will be used to carry out this activity. The loading of equipment will be carried out in accordance with approved documents. Loading will be closely supervised with trained banks men in attendance. Rigging / Crane studies will be undertaken (if required) to ensure the lifting operation is carried out in a controlled and effective manner utilizing any existing lifting points provided. The weight of any such load will be determined to ensure that overloading is prevented. Only competent and approved operator shall be deployed for lifting operations. Equipment as well as lifting jacks to be certified by competent persons before deployment. Daily inspection of the equipment should be done by the operator. No overloading allowed follow procedures of safe handling. Training and assistance of banks man/ Rigger. Coordination between operator & Banks man. Adequate Rest breaks recommended.

Material Handling ( Manual Lifting/ Lowering of Materials).

Back injury due to manual material handling. Individual Capability. Poor lighting conditions. Inadequate space. Tripping/ Slipping. Improper lifting load beyond the capacity of the individual. Improper lifting techniques. Lack of training, instruction & supervision. Slippery surface / overcrowded place. Improper housekeeping.

Whenever practicable, mechanical lifting aids e.g. Site Supervisor Cranes, forklifts trucks etc., will be used to alleviate the requirement for manual handling. Supervision will assess weight, centre of gravity etc. and determine the number of persons required to carry out the work safely. Personnel will be trained in manual handling techniques. Avoid manual load lifting if possible. If not then, check and ensure that the load is below the recognized permissible limit. Workers fit for the activity to be engaged. Area to be illuminated with adequate lighting. Good housekeeping standards to be maintained at all times to avoid slip trips and falls. Train the staff for good posture; Use slip resistance shoe with toe protection and hand gloves with sufficient grip to avoid insecure hold. Name Signature Date
