Course: Parent education ( ECED4010). Assignment: Self-analysis paper (parenting practices).

Teachers must understand that successful early childhood education depends upon partnerships with childrens families . I believe that, children development and learning cannot be separated from the social context . In my opinion , parent is the first teacher of children and essential to effective learning process . According to that I understand the importance of establish a strong relationship, collaboration and teamwork between school and parents ,involve them in their childrens development and learning.. This assignment includes analysis of my parents' parenting practices. I discussed my parents practices , the correct behaviors and the wrong behaviors , and how it affects the child. According to stander 2, I believe that teacher must respect diverse of family characteristics and understands the effects of this diverse in childs behaviors and development . As stander 2 mentioned , I have learned that teacher must value the role of parents and other important of family members as childrens primary teachers. Moreover , I strongly believe that factors like family structures, parents practices , home language, cultural values, ethnicity and community resources creates understanding of childrens lives. This understanding is critical ability to help children learn and develop well according to stander 2 . This assignment and course in general, make me believe that parenting practices impacts child development as hole , in social ,emotional, physical and cognitive development . Now I learn that parents must be consistent in parenting and let child take the responsibility and consequences of his\her behaviors. In my point of view, I think parents must let child free with little limitations to enhance personal development . In addition, understanding diverse parenting practices helps me to create more understanding of childrens lives. This understanding is critical ability to help children in learning and development well according to stander 2. Also, I can modify some behavioral problems by understanding the familys factors may cause this behaviors . In addition, now I assume that teachers can build positive relationship with families through respect variations across family expectations, values, and childrearing practices. .
