RESOLUTION NO.

WHEREAS, Alabama Power, through its agents, has undertaken the cutting of trees and brush in the corporate limits of the City of Homewood (the City); and WHEREAS, many citizens have complained about the methods currently being implemented by Alabama Power relating to tree and brush removal within the public right-ofways of the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council has requested Alabama Power representatives to meet with the City Council in order to discuss current and future tree and brush removal policies and practices to be implemented within the City of Homewood. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Homewood, Alabama, at a regular meeting, duly assembled, a quorum being present, as follows: 1. That the City Council does by adoption of this resolution publicly state its displeasure with Alabama Powers refusal to meet with representatives of the City Council and the Mayor to discuss Alabama Powers current and future tree and brush removal policies and practices within the public right-of-ways in the City. 2. That the Council does officially request that Alabama Power cease tree and brush removal within the City of Homewood until such time as representatives of Alabama Power and the City of Homewood meet to discuss the current and future policies and practices to be implemented by Alabama Power relating to tree and brush removal within the City. 3. That this resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, approval by the Mayor, or as otherwise becoming law. ADOPTED this the 20th day of May, 2013.
