David Espinoza Advisory 6/10/13 GPS Reflection

In my sophomore year of high school I went on a field trip to the Museum of Tolerance. The Museum of Tolerance is a museum in which they teach you all about the holocaust. Once I got there I thought it was just going to be another boring museum but it actually wasnt. During my visit we went through many exhibits and it made me feel like I was actually in the holocaust. It was like I could feel the pain and the emotions of the Jewish people. My favorite part of the museum was actually speaking to an actual holocaust survivor and I thought it was so interesting. Visiting the museum made my perspective on the holocaust change dramatically. It was not just the people put in camps and heaving them stay there. It was the Nazis taking away human rights on their own kind. Other human beings treated like aliens and not humans. Innocent Jewish children being sent to gas chambers and being killed so young when they had their whole life ahead of them. I have grown from this experience because before I came to the museum I didnt think the holocaust was a very big deal but after my visit I saw that it was a very big deal and millions and millions of Jews were cremated. This semester I am more college ready because in my environmental science class we did a podcast on Global Warming. My partner and I spent countless hours on this project and making the podcast was very difficult. What I learned is that the world is increasing in temperature every year and it is affecting all of us. We can make a change to global warming by reducing the use of carbon dioxide and other toxic gases to pollute our air. From this project I learned how to put together a podcast and I can use my knowledge from this project when I go off to college and when I have a career in the future. I have grown to be more college ready because this project has helped me learn how to correctly use podcast. It also taught me leadership skills to lead my partner into finishing our project and turning it in on time.
