Confucianism: Confucius was the founder of Confucianism, a Chinese philosopher, teacher and politician he was born around 551

BCE at and died around the year 479 BCE. Many teachings of Confucius are centred on things such as filial piety, and respect to ones superior. As mentioned before the teachings of Confucianism place the family and respect very highly, in Confucianism the family was seen as the training ground for later life. One of the largest beliefs in Confucianism is The Five Relationships. The Five Relationships are about peoples parts in society and what they do in that society. The Five Relationships are: Emperor Subject, Father Son, Husband Wife, Elder Brother Younger Brother, Friend Friend. All of these relationships show superiority in society for example: Emperor superior to subject or elder superior to younger. Taoism: Taoism is traditionally thought to be founded by Laozi. Taoism is all about an idea called the Tao. The Tao is a very abstract term as it is usually translated as the Way. One of the key principles of Taoism is Wu Wei. Wu Wei means to basically go with the flow and to not disturb the natural courses of things. Another principle of Taoism is the yin and yang. Yin and yang is a symbol and concept that shows harmony and balance and this is what Taoism is all about. The one is one of the most important principles in Taoism it is the essential energy of life. Buddhism: Buddhism is a religion that was founded by a man by the name of Siddhartha Gotama who was born in 563 BCE. The word Buddhism comes from the word budhi, which means

to awaken. Buddhism is quickly becoming a popular religion in the West. One of the central parts of Buddhism is the belief of rebirth. Buddhists believe that when a person dies they are reincarnated as a being in one of the realms: God Realm Demi-God Realm Human Realm Animal Realm Hungry Ghost Realm Or Hell Realm According to how they have lived their life. Buddhists believe that the human realm is the best to try and attain goo karma in order to reach a state of non-reincarnation as in the other realms there is either too much pain or too much pleasure.
