Record

Take the Work Permit Close the suction and discharge valves of the pump. Loosen the gland nuts of the pump. Take out the old / damaged gland with the help of a screwdriver or sharp object. While removing the old gland see that you are not damaging the shaft. Be specific while selecting the gland material and its size for the pump. Cut the gland diagonally i.e., the packing should join diagonally. Insert the packing in such a way that the packing position will stay in the upper part of the gland. Insert the gland and tightened the bolts slowly. Make sure that the packing position is not changing. Do not tighten the gland to maximum. Keep little clearance so that it can be adjusted while operating the pump. Over tightening of the gland will spoil the shaft and sleeve. Clean the equipment and work area

ENVIRONMENT OHSAS Ensure PPE, Helmet, adequate lighting near the work place. Ensure proper earthing of the equipment / area of work as the case may be. Ensure healthiness & safety of the entire activities with respect electrical system. Not applicable.
