To Whom It May Concern: I am writing this letter of recommendation for my co-teaching partner of the last three years, Raymond Hayward. I have been a Special Education teacher for 18 years in RCSD and have been in a number of co-teaching situations. Ray and I have taught together in an integrated co-taught class of twelve general education students and twelve students receiving Special Education services for three years. During these years I have worked very closely on a daily basis with Ray and know him very well, both professionally and personally. I would give him the highest recommendation possible for any teaching and/or technology position for which he might apply and I know that he would be a wonderful asset to any school community that he might join. Ray is a highly qualified teacher who has an in-depth knowledge of New York State Common Core Learning Standards and a broad range of instructional expertise. He brings a depth of knowledge and insight to lesson planning and instructional delivery in the inclusive classroom. He has been extremely flexible and resourceful in designing, planning, and delivering lessons with me. I could not have asked for more in a teaching teammate. He is hardworking, honest, loyal, and easy going, with a great sense of humor. Ray is a flexible collaborator and true teaching partner; his dedication to our students, his positive attitude, and his enthusiasm for teaching and learning have enabled us to provide rigorous, high quality, differentiated instruction, which meets the varied learning styles and individual needs and abilities of our students, year after year. He has demonstrated his commitment to the academic and social/emotional growth of every child we have taught. Our students and their families know that Mr. Hayward genuinely cares about them and gives 100% effort toward their growth and success, both in and outside of school. Ray speaks to children and their families with respect, kindness, and humor. He has high expectations for all students; each year I see even our most challenging and/or struggling students work their hardest to please Mr. Hayward, whom they adore. Ray is extremely responsible and reliable; he is a dedicated professional. He is respected and well-liked by faculty, staff, students, and families within our school community. He works well with colleagues on the various school teams and committees on which he serves each year. He has amazing skills with all things technological; everyone in our building, from administration to secretarial staff knows that we can call on Ray if we need help with anything involving technology.
