ABOUT psig AND psi

Psig (pound-force per square inch gauge) is a unit of pressure relative to atmospheric pressure at sea level. By contrast, psi measures pressure relative to a vacuum (such as that in space). Most pressure gauges, such as tire gauges, are calibrated to read zero at sea level, because most applications require the difference of pressure.

BTU/SCF = British Thermal units per Standard Cubic Foot.

1 Btu = heat required to raise 1 Lb. of water x 1 deg F. 1 cu ft = 12x12x12 = 1728 cu inch = 6.23 gallons. 1 gallon = 10 Lbs (fresh water). 1 cu ft = 62.3 Lbs (fresh water).

1 Lb = 0.4536 kg. 1 deg F = 0.56 deg C 3,413 btu = 1 kW/hr

To know the size of MOTOR OPERATING VALVE (MOV) divide the value by 10..there will be a value given near the symbol like DN. For example, if there is a 10 inch motor... Then there will be a value with symbol in the drawing like DN250... Then to get the size of motor, we can find as DN250= 250/10= 10 inch...
