SWITCH BOARDS AND DISTRIBUTION BOARDS

BOARDS SHALL BE METAL ENCLOSED, INDOOR FLOOR MOUNTED, COMPARTMENTALISED CONSTRUCTION AND FREESTANDING TYPE ALL BOARDS WILL BE FABRICATED USING MS COLD ROLLED SHEET STEEL OF THICKNESS OF 2.0MM ALL BOARDS SHALL BE DUST AND VERMIN PROFF CONSTRICTION WITH DEGREE OF PROTECTION IP52 ALL BOARDS SHALL BE OF UNIFORM HEIGHT NOT EXCEEDING 2450 MM BOARDS SHALL BE EASILY EXTENDIBLE ON BOTH SIDES NORMALLY CABLE ENTRIES WILL BE FROM BOTTOM SINGLE FRONT BOARDS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH BOLTED COVERS AT THE REAR ALL MODULES SHALL BE FIXED TYPE EXCEPT ACB

BUS BARS AND INSULATORS

AC DISTRIBUTION BOARDS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH THREE PHASE BUSES AND NEUTRAL BUS AND DC DISTRIBUTION BOARDS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH TWO BUSES. ALL BUSBARS SHALL BE OF HIGH CONDUCTIVITY ALUMINIUM / COPPER OF ADEQUATE SIZE. CROSS SECTION OF THE BUS BAR SHALL BE UNIFORM THROUGH OUT THE LENGTH OF BOARDS AND ADEQUATELY SUPPORTED. ALL BUSBARS SHALL BE ADEQUATELY SUPPORTED BY NON HYGROSCOPIC, NON-COMBUSTIBLE, HIGH STRENGTH POLYSTER FIBRE GLASS MOULDED INSULATORS. ALL BUSBAR JOINTS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH HIGH TENSILE STRENGTH STEEL BOLTS WITH SPRING WASHERS TO ENSURE GOOD CONTACTS AT JOINTS. ALL BUSBARS SHALL BE COLOUR CODED. HORIZONTAL RUN BUSBARS MINIMUM CLEARENCE WILL BE 25MM

AIR CIRCUIT BREAKERS

CIRCUIT BREAKERS WILL BE THREE POLE AIR BREAK HORIZONTAL DRAWOUT TYPE BREAKER WILL BE MOUNTED ALONG WITH OPERATING MECHANISIM ON A WHEELED CARRIAGE THERE WILL BE SERVICE, TEST & FULLY WITHDRAWN POSITIONS. IN TEST POSITION THE CB WILL BE CAPABLE OF BEING TESTED FOR OPERATION WITHOUT ENERGISING THE POWER CIRCUIT. I.E POWER CONTACTS WILL BE DISCONNECTED AND CONTROL CONTACTS WILL BE IN SERVICE. MECHANICAL LOCKING PROVISION WILL BE PROVIDED TO PREVENT MOVEMENT OF BREAKER FROM SERVICE, TEST AND WITHDRAWN POSITIONS. DOOR CAN BE CLOSED IN TEST POSITION. MECHANICAL INDICATIONS LIKE OPEN, CLOSE, SERVICE, TEST AND SPRING CHARGED WILL BE AVAILABLE.

AIR CIRCUIT BREAKERS

MAIN POLES OF CB SHALL OPERATE SIMULTANEOUSLY IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE MAXIMUM DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE INSTANT OF CONTACT TOUCHING DURING CLOSING SHALL NOT EXCEED HALF CYCLE OF RATED FREQUENCY. BREAKER CONTROLED MOTORS SHALL OPERATE SATISFACTORLY FOR THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS. A) DOL STARTING OF INDUCTION MOTORS RATED 110KW TO 220KW WITH LOCKED ROTOR CURRENT OF SEVEN TIMES THE RATED CURRENT, STARTING TIME OF UP TO 30 SECONDS. B) BRAKING ON LOAD, FULL LOAD AND LOCKED ROTOR CURRENTS OF INDUCTION MOTORS FOR RATED 100KW TO 220KW SLOW CLOSING OF BREAKER IN WITHDRAWN POSITION FOR INSPECTION AND SETTING OF CONTACTS IS POSSIBLE. IN SERVICE SLOW CLOSING SHALL NOT POSSIBLE.

AIR CIRCUIT BREAKERS

POWER OPERATED MECHANISIM SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH UNIVESAL MOTOR SUITABLE FOR OPERATION 220V DC CONTROL SUPPLY. TIME REQUIRED FOR FULLY CHARGING OF CLOSING SPRING WILL BE 30 SECONDS ONCE THE CLOSING SPRING IS DISCHARGED AFTER ONE CLOSING OPERATION OF BREAKER, IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY INITIATE, RECHARGING OF SPRING AS LONG AS THE POWER IS AVAILABLE FOR MOTOR, A CONTINUOUS SEQUENCE OF CLOSING AND OPENING OPERATION WILL BE POSSIBLE. MANUAL CHARGING OF CLOSING SPRING WITH HANDLE IS POSSIBLE. MECHANICAL CLOSING OF BREAKER ONLY IN TEST & WITHDRAWN POSITIONS.

AIR CIRCUIT BREKERS

INTERLOCKS OF BREKERS MOVEMENT OF CIRCUIT BREAKER BETWEEN SERVICE AND TEST POSITIONS WILL NOT POSSIBLE UNLESS IT IS IN OPEN POSITION. ANY ATTEMPT TO WITH DRAWL OF A CLOSED CIRCUIT BREAKER SHALL TRIP THE BREAKER

CLOSING OF CIRCUIT BREAKER SHALL NOT POSSIBLE UNLESS IT IS IN SERVICE, TEST POSITIONS OR FULLY WITHDRAWN POSITION
CIRCUIT BREAKER CUBICAL WILL BE PROVIDED WITH SAFETY SHUTTERS OPERATED AUTOMATICALLY BY MOVEMENT OF CIRCUIT BREAKER CARRAGE TO COVER THE STATIONARY ISOLATED CONTACTS WHEN THE BREAKER IS WITHDRAWN

AIR CIRCUIT BREAKERS

A BREAKER OF PERTICULAR RATING SHALL BE PREVENTED FROM INSERTION IN A CUBICLE OF A DIFFERENT RATING CIRCUIT BREAKERS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH ELECTRICAL ANTI PUMPING AND TRIP FREE FUTURE MECHANICAL TRIPPING WILL BE POSSIBLE BY MEANS OF FRONT MOUNTED RED TRIP BUTTON. IN CASE OF ELECTRICALLY OPERATED BREAKERS THESE PUSH BUTTONS SHALL BE SHROUDED TO PREVENT THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION.

INSTRUMENT TRANSFORMERS

ALL CURRENT AND VOLTAGE TRANSFORMERS SHALL BE COMPLETELY ENCAPSULATED CAST RESIN INSULATED TYPE SUITABLE FOR CONTINUOUS OPERATION AT TEMPERATURE PREVAILING INSIDE THE SWITCHGEAR ENCLOSURE ALL INSTRUMENT TRANSFORMERS SHALL BE ABLE TO WITHSTAND THE THERMAL AND MECHANICAL STRESSES RESULTING FROM THE MAXIMUM SHORT CIRCUIT. ALL INSTRUMENT TRANSFORMERS SHALL HAVE CLEAR POLARITY MARKINGS. CURRENT TRANSFORMERS MAY BE MULTI OR SINGLE CORE TYPE. ALL VOLTAGE TRANSFORMERS SHALL BE SINGLE PHASE TYPE

INDICATING INSTRUMENTS

AMMETER, VOLTMETER, FREQUENCY METER, POWERFACTOR MERTER, ENERGY METERS WITH MAXIMUM DEMAND INDICATOR. ALL INDICATING METERS SHALL BE FLUSH MOUNTED ON PANEL FRONT.THE INSTRUMENTS SHALL BE OF AT LEAST 96MM SQARE SIZE WITH 90 DEGREE SCALES. ALL INSTRUMENTS SHALL BE COMPENSATED FOR TEMPERATURE ERRORS AND FACTORY CALIBRATED TO DIRECTLY READ THE PRIMARY QUANTITES. ZERO ADJUSTMENT PROVISION WITH OUT REMOVING OR DISMANTLING THE INSTRUMENTS INSTRUMENTS SHALL HAVE WHITE DIALS WITH BLACK NUMERALS AND LETTERING

AIR BREAK SWITCHES

AIR BREAK SWITCH SHALL BE OF HEAVY DUTY TYPE, SINGLE THROW, GANG OPERATED, LOAD BREAK AND FAULT MAKETYPE. SWITCH OPERATING HANDLE SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH PADLOCKING FACILITIES TO LOCK THEM IN OFF POSITION

INTERLOCK SHALL BE PROVIDED SUCH THAT IT IS POSSSIBLE TO OPEN THE CUBICAL DOOR ONLY WHEN THE SWITCH IS IN OFF POSITION AND CLOSE THE SWITCH ONLY WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED.
