I currently am taking my last course at Kaplan University and will be receiving my B.S. in Health and Wellness. I have been around the world more than 3 times and I am a veteran of the United States Navy. I want to share with you how I have implemented CAM into my life.

I first needed a strategy of maximizing my well being. Either it involves a medical care approach in addition to conventional medicine or an alternative care without the association of conventional medicine

A current strategy for me and my ongoing discovery of issues like minor depression and attention deficit disorder consists of CAM and conventional medicine to optimize my behavior and health. Stress is essentially a result of an interaction between a negative environment, unhealthful lifestyles, and self defeating attitudes and beliefs (Micozzi, 2006).

According to MedicineNet.com (2010), some of the other methods of complementary and alternative medicine are Alexander technique, aromatherapy, herbalist, holistic nursing, massage therapy, osteopathic manipulative therapy (OMT), Oj-gong (internal and external Qiging), reflexology, Reiki, spiritual healing, and Tai Chi. These methods use therapies with a historical or cultural basis, as opposed to a scientific basis.

Depending on the medical condition at hand, complementary and alternative methods may be combined with some conventional methods in order to achieve maximum health and wellness. The benefits of CAM methods are that, by avoiding use of medications, less foreign and man-made chemicals are being introduced to the body, thus lowering the risk of unwanted side effects.

I am stepping up my game mentally and physically and I am excited about it When I am encouraging others that is when I know for sure I am doing well physically and mentally because I have a conscious positively directing me and motivating me

My emotional health and wellness, my physical prescription and lastly my feelings on complementary and alternative medicine all are studied personally and strategized for optimal health. I also have the P90X program available to me as well as all the proper equipment so the excuses need to stop and that is one thing I can change.
