LANDSCAPE is a term that means different things to different people.

Representations of particular values or aspirations that the builders and financiers of those landscapes want to impart to the larger public.

DERELICT LANDSCAPE - Landscapes that have experienced abandonment, misuse, disinvestment, or vandalism

Ordinary Landscape also called as Vernacular Landscape


Text Landscape can be seen in written materials

Environment shapes and is shaped by people through different cultural identities and status categories.

Landscape is a reflection of our culture and our experiences.


The types of landscapes are ordinary, symbolic, power, derelict, and text. Landscape can also be a language through codes or signs that direct our attention to certain features (Semiotics). The emergence of the most recent phase of globalization has occurred in parallel with a transition from Modernism to Postmodernism.
