Anahuacalmecac student delegates take on national competitors at Bruin MUN The 19th session of the Bruin Model United Nations conference was held from Saturday, November 12 to Sunday, November 13, 2011 on the campus of UCLA. Eight Anahuacalmecac IUP students competed this year, going tte--tte against top students from around the United States. Every year, Model United Nations at UCLA welcomes high schools from across the nation to a competitive simulation of United Nations bodies, NGOs, and international organizations. This year schools from Florida, Nevada, and Arizona competed against schools from around California. Delegates experienced an opportunity to explore international issues and ideas in a competitive debate environment facilitated by the dedicated student staff of Bruin MUN. Anahuacalmecac MUN student advisors Cynthia Garcia and Tlayecantzi Marcos Aguilar were pleased to see all of our delegates actively engaged in the debate in each of four committees our students were assigned to. Prior to the conference each student researched and wrote a position paper reflecting their assigned countrys policies and their own unique analysis of the given issue. We salute our student delegates and their capacity to engage in a national level student discourse on current affairs. Congratulations! Bruin MUN delegates: M.Perez (9th), M.Kuauhtzin (10th), I.Aguilera (10th), N.Carrillo (10th), A.Perez (11th), J.Guevara (12th), J.Ochoa (12th), E.Garcia (12th) PICTURES ON PAGE 2
