Standard 4 A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by collaborating with families and

community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources. 4-1 Incorporate information about family and community expectations into school decision-making and activities. 4-2 Recognize the goals and aspirations of diverse family and community groups. 4-3 Treat diverse community stakeholder groups with fairness and with respect. 4-4 Support the equitable success of all students and all subgroups of students through the mobilization and leveraging of community support services. 4-5 Strengthen the school through the establishment of community, business, institutional, and civic partnerships. 4-6 Communicate information about the school on a regular and predictable basis through a variety of media and modes.

Developed a plan for appropriate staff and community involvement in the budget process at your school site for my class Interviewed a parent you do not know well about how the parent relates to the school, his/her involvement at school and at home, and the suggestions for improving home-school relations. Gathered and assess data to determine the perspectives of the diverse constituencies in their community. Interviewed the Armenian and Korean ethnic groups (subgroup majorities at our school site) families to find out their goals and aspirations. Informed all parents of Williams complaint procedure in parent-friendly ways and respond appropriately to complaints. Designed school/district flyers in multiple (Armenian, Spanish, Korean, English) languages. Represented the school in a community organization. Communicated information to external publics about the school through a variety of media and modes. Coordinated displays or hallway bulletin boards. Designed a brochure concerning information on district/school policy for parents in parent-friendly language and/or community groups. Made a presentation before your PTA and parents about the different programs offered. Reviewed the schools current parent handbook and make recommendations for its improvement. Created website to communicate with for parents Handled the publicity for Fashion Show Participated in School Site Council meeting and assess parent involvement. Assisted with planning and coordinating school-sponsored programs for families and community (e.g. Open House and Back-to-School events, parent-teacher conferences)
