Memory Presentation

Long-Term Memory
NextInformation
is moved to Short-
Term or Working
memory by way of
selective retention.
Information that is
not retained or
rehearsed is lost in
15 to 30 seconds.
The information that
remains is then put
into Long-Term
Memory. Long-Term
Memory is an
unlimited memory
storage that can hold
information
indefinitely.
Mainly, information in your long-term memory will affect
your critical thinking skills in two ways:
1.) Reflections on past critical thinking experiences,
which allow you to apply the same process with
confidence and/or improve upon past experiences.
2.) Information stored in your long-term memory keeps
experiences, senses. These experiences' and senses'
effect the way we use the information as in learning or
critical thinking.
One negative experience I can remember (no pun
intended) when memory effected my ability to learn is
when I was cramming for my SATs. Well I learned by
my results that the SATs are not crammable. When
test time came I drew a complete blank and paid the
price. I think I overloaded my brain the night before
and must of short-circuited something.
