Gay Marriage Rights Same-sex couples are denied the right to marriage based upon their sexuality. Discrimination against sexuality should not ever be okay, especially when the government is the biggest factor upon on the issue. The government should have no say in what gender can join in matrimony. Same-sex couples deal with the restrictions of being married in 37 states. Gay Marriage Rights should be a freedom for any persons who live freely. Same-sex marriage should be allowed in all states rather than a few. Marriage is a civil right. Interracial marriages are given the right to marry and it should be no different with samesex couples. Gay Marriage is a right and discriminates against same-sex couples when the right to marriage is revoked from them. Same-sex couples should be treated no less than an interracial couple. The thought that the traditional marriage is between man and women is incorrect. In many aspects and views, the heterosexual can be seen as abnormal. The concept of homosexuality is a born aspect rather than an overnight feeling. Legalizing gay marriage was first approved by the state of Massachusetts. With legalizing gay marriage, Massachusetts saw a decline in divorce rates by 21% between the years of 2003 and 2008. More interracial couples divorce every year than homosexual marriages. Homosexual couples are denied rights to matrimony based upon the issue that they are not able to reproduce children. Same-sex couples dont need to reproduce children necessarily. All the children in orphanages and adoption agency could be going to loving and caring samesex couples. Wouldnt you rather the children be in a loving home then in the system the rest of their life due to discrimination on who can take care of them? The purpose of marriage is not solely based off producing and raising children but finding someone who can love and give you the attention and help you need in your life. What about the interracial couples who dont produce children or cannot reproduce? Are they denied the right to marriage also? No. They are still able to get married and live their lives. No one tells those interracial couples that are unable to reproduce that they cannot get married due to those manipulative issues. With that being said, Same-sex couples should not be discriminated against because they cannot reproduce when there are interracial couples dealing with the same problems. Same-sex couple should be given rights to vote in every state rather than in certain states. Interracial couples are given rights to marriage. So should homosexual couples. Same-sex couples are discriminated against for minor problems and sometimes heterosexual couples have the same issues. Same-sex couples lifestyles are lived no different than interracial couples; were all still living in a world where anyone can be discriminated against into smaller minorities.
