SCHOOL Palayan City ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT IN MEDIA S.Y. 2012-2013

I.

INTRODUCTION

The school paper is a vehicle for expressing the ideas, opinions and views of the students aside from being an avenue for developing the skills of pupils and teachers in writing and journalism. For these reasons, the school has encouraged and enjoined all pupils to put up a functional school organ with at least two issues in a school year. School PRESSCON was conducted to select school representatives in the Congressional District and Division Conferences.

II.

PUPILS WELFARE

July 12, 2012 Start of mentoring and training of editorial staff to train pupil-contestants to a higher level presscon. Ralph Adrian M. Lobo and Jhamira O. Piadozo 1 st Place in the District Presscon Editorial cartooning English and Filipino respectively; they also joined in the division level being 2nd placer in the CD II and IV presscon. Jessica A Magtalas 3rd Place in the District Presscon News writing in English, she also participated in the division level having been chosen among the top10 in the CD III and IV level. III. TEACHER DEVELOPMENT

Joji M. Tecson coached and trained Ralph Adrian Lobo who won 2 nd place in theCD III & IV PRESSCON editorial cartooning category at sta. Rosa National High School. Rosemarie F. Ramos coached and trained Jessica Magtalas who won 5th place in the CD III & IV PRESSCON News Writing category at sta. Rosa National High School.

IV. NETWORKING fostering support for the school paper from the school communitythis may include keeping people up-to-date with the latest developments;

V. PROBLEMS MET V. Lack of funds for the registration fees of contestants in Presscons and training-workshops. Lack of writing ability of pupils. FUTURE PLANS Tap English teachers to include more creative writing exercises in their lessons.
