3) The sodium hydrogen carbonate underwent a chemical change. What evidence do you have of this change?

There were new substances created with sodium and bicarbonate so bicarbonate underwent a chemical change. 4) Describe the resulting white powder in the cooled beaker. The white powder that formed was salt NaCl and was created through the reaction between NaHCO3 and HCl. 5) How can you identify the product as being different from the reactant? The product will not react with HCl so it cant be the same as the reactant. 6) To make sure that the white powder was all sodium chloride and not mixed with sodium hydrogen carbonate, would you need to add a littler less or a little more hydrochloric acid to the reaction? Explain your decision. You would need more HCl because HCl is what reacts with the sodium bicarbonate. 7) Knowing that this was a chemical reaction, explain why the mass of the product was different from the mass of the original sodium hydrogen carbonate. The mass of the product was different from the mass of the original hydrogen carbonate because it has lost electrons.
