World Environment Day is an annual event that is aimed at being the biggest and most widely celebrated global day for positive environmental action.
World Environment Day celebration began in 1972 and has grown to become the one of the main vehicles through which the UN stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and encourages political attention and action

World environment day is peoples event. People around the globe celebrate with colorful activities such as street rallies , city wide walks , scientific forums, bicycle parades , green concerts , essays and poster competitions

Lets Pledge on this world environment day , to make the environment greener and safer for all living beings on earth Let us consider carefully the actions each of us must take, and the address ourselves to our common task of preserving all life on Earth.

Celebrating World Environment Day at Ramky

Sl.No. 1) Event 1st June to 4th June 2012: Contest mail- 3 objects will be mailed to employees. Employees have to come out with unique way to reuse them. 1st June to 4th June 2012: Five Facts about the WED will be sent to Employees, everyday. Plantation programme at IW/MSW sites: At all identified project sites, certain area is demarcated for plantation... RF will plant the saplings suitable to that soil, maintain those saplings for one year. 5th June 2012: GREEN OATH posters will be displayed at all Ramky Offices 5th June 2012: A talk on Environment Consciousness by Shri.Garikapati Narsimha Rao Remarks The ingenious answer for the day bags a prize.

A quiz will be conducted on these facts on 5th June 2012... Winners of the quiz will be awarded with gifts. At least 100 saplings in each identified location will be planted. Next year, awards will be given to those sites which maintain the best survival rate among these saplings.
