EXTERNAL - ESSAY PLAN FOR FILM NOIR - OPTION B - The genre has been inuenced by society.

PARAGRAPH 1 - Discuss what genre is. For excellence it is expected you use relevant theories such as those by Levi Strauss. Using the notes from the documentary Bringing Darkness to Light explain what genre is and argue how lm noir could be described as a genre.

PARAGRAPH 2 - Discuss how lm noir originated from Germany - the role of German expressionism, etc. You make like to start discussing history at the time including the role of women, how the industry worked in Hollywood and the thoughts/feelings of America pre and post war. You could use Fritz Lang as a good example here.
