Narrative Report On Nutrition Month

The Villanueva Elementary School held a Nutrition Month celebration on July 19, 2013 with various activities to promote proper nutrition including slogan making, poster making, photo essays, and a nutrition quiz. Students from kindergarten through sixth grade performed numbers about nutrition such as jingles, dances, and acrostics. Parents and teachers enjoyed seeing the children perform. The celebration supported the Philippine government's Nutrition Month program to raise awareness about ending hunger and malnutrition through multi-stakeholder participation.

NUTRITION MONTH CELEBRATION
July 19, 2013

July is dubbed as Nutrition Month. Every private and government agency support the governments celebration of Nutrition Month in our country. As a gesture of showing our support to the governments program, the Villanueva Elementary School conducted a School-Based Nutrition Month Program last July 19, 2013 with the theme Hunger and Malnutrition, lets end it together which underscores the need for active multi-stakeholder participation to address the basic causes of hunger. Among our contested activities are the following: Slogan , Poster Making, Photo Essay, Nutri-Quiz and Jingle and Parent-son/daughter tandem in Cookfest. The program started withn the singing of the national anthem conducted by Mrs. Merly S. Valencia, Master Teacher-2 of the school followed by a prayer & opening remarks by Keith Baricua a grade VI pupil & Alexandra Marie D. Reblora respectively. Mrs. Flaviana S. Bugarin, the schools health and nutrition coordinator and Mrs. Divine Grace B. Samortin, the school head shared their wit regarding proper nutrition Pupils from kinder to Grade VI showed their talents with their presentations. Parents and teachers were very happy to see their children performing in their specified numbers.
