INTRODUCTION:A computer network, often simply referred to as a network, is a collection of computers and devices interconnected by communications channels that facilitate communications among users and allows users to share resources.

BENEFITS OF COMPUTER NETWORKING:-

1.Facilitating communications. 2.Sharing hardware. 3.Sharing files. 4.Sharing software. 5.Easy communication.

TYPES OF NETWORKING:LAN:-(LOCAL AREA NETWORK)

WAN:-(WIDE AREA NETWORK)

MAN:-(METROPOLITAN AREA NETWORK)

NETWORK TOPOLOGIES: Bus topology Ring Topology

Star Topology
Mesh Topology Tree Topology
Hybrid Topology

Bus networks are the simplest way to connect multiple clients, but may have problems when two clients want to transmit at the same time on the same bus.

Its a network in which each node connects to exactly two other nodes, forming a single continuous pathway for signals through each node - a ring. Data travels from node to node, with each node along the way handling every packet.

While the precise structure of the future Internet is not yet clear, many directions of growth seem apparent. One is the increased availability of wireless access.

The Native Computer Communications Network Project was a good example of how a focus on creating a network of computers does not necessarily ensure the interpersonal networking of the potential users of that technology.
