Carbon Footprint Analysis

Using the GHG Protocol - scope 1, 2 and 3 (partial), EcoAct has evaluated and offset the carbon footprint of the Maghreb Renewable Energy Congress organized by Green Power Conferences in Rabat, Morocco on May, 21st and 22nd, 2013.

Scope 1: 0 tCO2e
Scope 1: All direct GHG emissions (owned vehicles and fuel combustion) There is no external source of heat used for this event, so no fuel combustion.

Scope 2: 0,7 tCO2e

Scope 2 : Indirect GHG emissions from consumption of purchased electricity, heat or steam. The duration of this conference is 2 days, occupying a surface of 965 m2. The total footprint of lighting and heating during the conference activities represents 0,7 tCO2e.

Scope 3: 4,2 tCO2e

Scope 3 : Other indirect GHG emissions, such as transport-related activities in vehicles not owned or controlled by the reporting entity, or electricity losses on the grid. Business travels of the Green Power Conferences staff were included in this scope. 3 staff members took a return plane from London to Casablanca. The total amount of emissions under scope 3 is 4,2 tCO2e.

GLOBAL RESULTS : 4,9 tCO2e
