Im sitting in my room , reading a good book, or watching television, or listening to some good musicwhen all of a sudden the lights

go out. The music fades out, the television screen goes black, my room is dark. I painstakingly fumble around in the dark looking for a candle that must be there somewhere. I impatiently look for some matches. Suddenly I realize that so many of my comforts come from the power coming out of that socket in the wall, and the wire that brings it in from the outside.

It reminds me that I am also dependent on the power that comes to me from the wire from above: from the hand of God. What happens if that wire from above breaks? I lose all connections, all power. If that were to happen, who could repair that spiritual power blackout?

We look after our cars and keep our heating and cooling systems in working condition. What about the upkeep on our power line to God? Often we first appreciate the good things we have roundabout us only when we are suddenly deprived of them. If our power line to God breaks down, it may take a long time to repair. Now is the time to check it
