ZCIPSI inks collective bargaining agreement with ZCPILU

The Zamboanga City Integrated Port Services, Inc. (ZCIPSI) together with the Zamboanga City Port Integrated Labor Union (ZCPILU) signed a collective bargaining agreement yesterday morning at Grand Astoria Hotel. ZCIPSI General Manager, Romeo B. Casela said, Being the operator recognized cargo handling contractor of the Zamboanga base port this will promote industrial peace so that we can pursue with the improvement of the systems and procedures to effect better cargo handling and promote productivity standards. The collective bargaining agreement signed by both parties will also serve as the bible between the labor union and the management as far as implementing procedures when it comes to cargo processes that the office will be implementing to improve the overall service at the port of Zamboanga where domestic and foreign ships are being serviced. The ZCIPSI stands as the employer while the ZCPILU are the employees when combined they total to 1,000 workers working at the local wharf. Present during the signing were ZCIPSI General Manager, Romeo B. Casela, DOLE IX Regional Director, Sisinio B.Cano, NCMB Director Reynaldo Foncardas, ZCPILU President Darwis Pungutan, and Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Manager Eng. Liberto Dela Rosa According to Casela, when port services are efficient this will also encourage businesses and several investments to prosper in this city. By R.G. A A. Go
